About Advancement
Scouting provides an opportunity to try new things, provide service
to others, build self-confidence and reinforce ethical standards. One of our
goals here at Troop 49 is to help develop highly qualified scouts. We do this
through careful planning and consistent encouragement. The ultimate goal is for
each scout to earn the rank of Eagle Scout. This is an admirable goal.
Throughout his journey the scout will acquire skills like leadership, personal
management, teamwork and responsibility. These skills give Scouts a jump start
for entering adulthood with an eye toward being successful, capable members of
their communities.
